Obituary

In Loving Memory of Gerald A. Ohlin Gerald (Jerry) A. Ohlin, born on November 5, 1945, passed suddenly, yet peacefully at home on January 28, 2024. Jerry was the devoted husband of Sandra Ohlin, with whom he shared a beautiful 57-year marriage. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mary Ohlin, his brothers William and Jeffrey, and his infant son Scott. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sanrda, his son Eric (Leanna) Ohlin, daughter Kristen (John) Barricella, and grandchildren Sydney, Alex, Emily, Zachary, and Kahlea. He is also survived by his sister Judy (Terry) Wenger, brother David (Marilyn) Ohlin and many nieces and nephews. During the Vietnam War, Jerry honorably served as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Army. Following his military service, Jerry pursued a successful career as a builder and contractor, being best known for his partnership in Ohlin Construction and the development of the Timberbrooke Trails neighborhood in Poland. He will always be known for his attention to detail and the quality of his workmanship. Jerry also enjoyed spending time on his hobbies, which included gardening, building model airplanes, and woodworking. He possessed a skilled hand and a creative spirit, bringing beauty and precision to everything he crafted. Above all else, Jerry (PopPop) cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, imparting wisdom, or simply enjoying their laughter, Jerry found immense joy in their presence. His love for them knew no bounds, and they were the light of his life. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the calling hours on February 10th, from 9 to 11 AM, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown, Ohio. A Mass of Celebration of Jerry's life will follow at 11 AM, with a luncheon to be held in the church hall thereafter. May Jerry's soul rest in pain free, eternal peace, and may his family find solace in the cherished memories they shared with him.
