New Middletown - Gerald W. Goodspeed, 86, passed away Thursday morning at Briarfield At The Ridge in Mineral Ridge, OH. Gerald was born on Nov. 6, 1922, to William and Matilda Pretner Goodspeed in Westmoreland City, PA. He married Ann Marie Hovorsky in 1946 and she passed away in 1984. Gerald worked for Sharon Steel as a Brakeman/Conductor for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He leaves behind three sons, Gerald A. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, William and Jacob (Jack) of Poland, OH., one daughter Karen A. Melikant of Evans City, PA. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother Donald.
