Struthers-Gale Mitchell, 61, passed away Wednesday at the Hospice House in Poland. Gale was born on May 6, 1947 in Poland, a daughter of Clark and Anna Baird Howard. She married Edward Mitchell on Dec. 16, 1966. She leaves behind one son, Edward (Missy) Mitchell of Struthers; one daughter, Chris (William) Sause of Cobb Island, Md.; three brothers, Robert, William and Kenneth Howard, all of New Springfield; seven grandchildren; and her best friend and long time caregiver, Frances Burrell. Gale was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, who died April 11, 2003, son, Richard; three sisters, Mary Belle Montanaro, Renia L. Peterson, and Bertha Mae Day; and four brothers, Thomas B. Howard, James E. Howard, Richard A. Howard and Clark E. Howard, Jr. A special tribute and thanks go to Dr. Ricciardi and the Ireland Cancer Center at the Cleveland University Hospital.
