New Middletown – Private services were held for Fred Martino, age 97, who passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at his home surrounded by his wife, Rose, and his children.

Fred was born May 13, 1929, in Lowellville a son of Rocco and Carmela Marrapedi, who came from Italy and settled in Lowellville and then moved to Struthers. He married Rose (Dolly) Masterson on July 21, 1951. They were married a few weeks short of 75 years.

In his early days, Fred went to barber school in Arizona and returned to the area where he owned and operated Annex Barber Shop in Boardman. He then went to work at General Motors in Lordstown for 25 years as an oiler in maintenance until he retired. He served in the Army.

Fred enjoyed traveling, fishing, painting, and going to the casino. He loved Friday family fish dinners.

He was very proud of his children Judi Seidner of Crossville, TN, Debi (Geo) Owen of Washingtonville, Jimmy (Patty) of New Middletown, and Susan Swan of Boardman. He leaves seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Fred will be laid to rest at Zion Cemetery in New Middletown.
