New Springfield – Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Petersburg, Ohio for Francis "Buzz" Gebhardt, 76, who passed away Saturday morning at his residence with his family by his side. Francis was born on August 17, 1939 in New Springfield, Ohio, a son of Harvey E. and Dorothy Rhuele Gebhardt. He lived in New Springfield his entire life and worked for Herriot Trucking of East Palestine, Ohio and for Sheeley's Furniture and Sofas Plus. He mowed grass for 36 years for numerous people and the local township cemeteries. Francis was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and the Springfiled Township Ruritan for 39 years. He was also an avid golfer. Francis married the former Marsha G. Seeger on April 24, 1971. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Mark (Stacee) Gebhardt of Bessemer, PA, Michael Gebhardt of New Springfield, Oh. Matthew (Stephanie) Gebhardt of  Petersburg, Oh; two daughters, Melinda (Jamie) Singo of Rockwood, PA, Marlene (Jeff) VanPelt of New Waterford, OH; one sister Marion Hunt of Youngstown;  seven grandchildren, Andrew Singo, Austin, Mattisyn and  Coltyn Gebhardt, Jordan VanPelt, Shelby and Lindsay Gebhardt, and several nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Kenneth Gebhardt. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Petersburg and also at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
