Struthers - Florence M. Heid, 89, formerly of New Middletown, died Sunday afternoon at Ivy Woods Manor. Florence was born July 30, 1920 in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles and Jennie Archer Hoffman and was a lifelong area resident. She had been a beautician and had operated Florence's Beauty Shop in New Middletown for several years. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for people; was a graduate of Boardman High School and belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Paul the Apostle Church. Florence's husband Frederick, whom she married Aug. 24, 1940 died Jan. 10, 1981. She leaves a son, Frederick C. (Emma) of Fort Lauderdale; three daughters, Jennie (Joe) DeSantis of Boardman, Jeannette (her husband John is deceased) Schaade of Salem, and Florence Ann (James) Allen of Canfield; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
