NEW MIDDLETOWN - A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Esther E. Mihalcak, 86, who passed away peacefully at the Hospice House on Monday morning.
Esther was born April 28, 1928 in Campbell, Ohio, a daughter of Michael and Irma Laskay.
She came to New Middletown in 1948 and was a welder at Truscon Steel Company during World War II, after which she became a homemaker.
She loved to work in her vegetable and flower garden and enjoyed antiques.
Esther married John Mihalcak on September 18, 1948 and he passed away September 20, 2002.
She leaves three sons, Jack M. (Linda) Mihalcak of East Palestine, OH, Gary E. (Penny) Mihalcak and Jerry J. Mihalcak, both of Boardman; one daughter Gail I. (George) Siembida of Columbiana; one sister, Irma Kolesar of Poland, OH; five grandchildren, Janet, Crystal, Pamela, David and Kevin and six great grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Carl, Emery, Michael, and Frank Laskay and one sister Betty Yancurak.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
