Obituary

New Middletown – Services will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the morning at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown for Ellen I. Behnke, 87, who died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman. Ellen was born in Poland on April 8, 1928, a daughter of Elmer and Margaret Rohbaugh Paine. She lived in the area her entire life and married James W. Behnke, Sr. on March 29, 1952. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the Tiger's Table. She enjoyed bowling, cross stitching, word searches and Rummi-O. Ellen was a long time member of Old Springfield United Church of Christ. Ellen leaves one son, James W. Behnke, Jr. of New Middletown; two daughters Joan (Bryan) Black of New Middletown and Jean (John) Masko of Boardman; one sister Beverly Mohn of Poland, and two grandchildren, Jimmy W. Behnke III and Lesley Mounts. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, who died December 11, 1990, and two brothers Wendall and William Paine. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. and on Friday, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 both at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown.
