STRUTHERS - Ellen C. Jones, 84, passed away on Saturday morning at Hampton Woods in Poland, after a brief illness. Ellen was born on September 14, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael and Caroline Beil Manley, and had been a lifelong area resident. Her husband George A. Jones, whom she married October 2, 1943, died November 6, 2001. She had been a supervisor for Weatherbee Coats in Youngstown for 27 years and was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. She graduated from South High School in 1943 and had been a member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary #3538 in Struthers. Ellen leaves a son, George (Bud) Jones of Struthers; two daughters, Mary Ellen Jones and Christine (Ken) Stiver, both of Struthers; a sister, Dorothy (Edward) Pawlik of Youngstown; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Carol Ann Jones; two brothers, Joe and Michael Manley; and three sisters, Catherine Esposito, Mary Rita Skill and Jean Marshall.
