Obituary

Columbiana – A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, August 26, at 10:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown for Eleanor F. Cunning, 99, of Parkside Nursing Home, formerly of New Springfield, who passed away Sunday morning. Eleanor was born November 20, 1915, in Metamora, Ohio, a daughter of Edward and Hilda Lewe Scheuer.  She came to this area in 1945 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown and was a refunder at the church. Eleanor married Patrick J. Cunning on May 21, 1945 and he passed away January 2, 1989. She leaves four sons John (Ella) Cunning of Leetonia, Frank and Paul Cunning, both of New Springfield, and Mark (Caroline) Cunning of Lisbon; one daughter Clare F. Baldwin of Poland; five grandchildren James P. Cunning, Bryan Bivens, Matthew and Luke McRoberts, and Adam Cunning; three great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Charlie, and Caroline McRoberts. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and husband;two sons Glenn and Carl Cunning; two daughters, Anne McRoberts and Jeanne Cunning; four brothers Bernard, Clifford, Elm, and Walter Scheuer; one sister Margaret Hanudel; two grandchildren, Rebecca Cunning and James Gooch. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown and on Wednesday, at the church one hour prior to the service from 9:00
