A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 7, at 10:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown for Elanor Bogan Evan, 85, affectionately known as "Pal", who passed away Saturday, March 5, at Masternick Memorial Healthcare Center.
Elanor was born January 4, 1931, in Struthers, a daughter of Edward and Anna Bogan. She lived in the area her whole life and worked at General Electric in Youngstown, until she married Michael G. Evan on October 4, 1957.
Pal was an avid storyteller, who most enjoyed writing short stories and poems, dancing and listening to her favorite records, as well as any sort of trivia game. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with and being surrounded by her six granddaughters.
She leaves one son Dr. Michael (Linda) Evan of New Middletown and one daughter Pamela (Duane) Shover of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren Elisabeth, Rebecca, Catherine, and Jessica Evan and Danielle and Victoria Shover.
Pal is now reunited with her husband, Michael G. Evan, who has been waiting patiently for her five years, as well as her parents.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the love and support of the staff of Masternick Memorial, many of whom Pal considered to be wonderful friends.
A private viewing will be held prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Elanor's name to one of her two favorite organizations: Angels for Animals at 4750 West South Range Road in Canfield, OH, 44406 or to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley at 2246 Glenwood Avenue in Youngstown, OH, 44511.
