Services: Services will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home and at 1:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, both in Struthers.

Visitation: Friends may call on Saturday morning at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., two hours prior to the service.

STRUTHERS - Edward J. Skoloda, Sr., 85, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Edward was born on July 27, 1924 in Youngstown, a son of John and Helen Kotasek Skoloda. He grew up in Lancingville and attended St. Matthias Grade School and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He received degrees from Youngstown State University and Kent State University. Edward was in the Navy and served as a motor mack machinist during World War II. He married Marietta Vince on October 29, 1949. He worked as a machinist at Younstown Sheet and Tube, retiring in 1980. He was a teacher at Trumbull County Vocational School from 1980 to 1988. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church. Edward leaves his son, Edward (Nancy) Skoloda, Jr. of Struthers; a daughter, Cindy Mannasmith of Poland; a brother, Paul Skoloda of Struthers; a sister, Louise Miley of Struthrs; three grandchildren, Edward and James Skoloda, both of Struthers and Carlye Mannasmith of Poland, and three step-grandchildren, Jarrod, Devon and Aubri Mannasmith. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marietta, who died December 18, 2007.
