Services: Services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic's Church in Youngstown.
Visitation: Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
Youngstown - Edward M. Roman, Sr., 85, of Youngstown passed away Tuesday at Hospice House in Poland. Edward was born in Campbell on Jan. 23, 1924, a son of Michael and Anna Costick Roman. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School. Edward married Mary Jane Angelo on June 14, 1952. He was in the Navy during WWII; was employed by Commercial Motor Freight and then Commercial Lovelace and retired after 33 years of service. He was also a member of St. Dominic's Church in Youngstown and was a past commander of the VFW Post #93. Edward leaves his wife, Mary Jane; two sons, Edd (Louann) Roman of Warren and Robert Roman of Youngstown; three daughters, Mary Ann (Kenn) Simon of Austintown, Paula (Ted) Hassay of Mineral Ridge and Patti (Jim) Smith of Liberty; one brother, Jerry Roman of Campbell; one sister, Rita Toker of Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Michael Bydo, Eddie Roman, Priscilla Roman, Robbie Roman, Jason Simon, Jenn Simon, Angie Bechtel, Jim Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Iliana Smith. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and one son David, who died in 1980.
