Struthers – Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 am at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers for Edward E. Amicone, 96, who died Tuesday at Maplecrest Nursing Home in Struthers. Edward was born January 1, 1919, in Santa Fe, Argentina, a son of Joseph and Bambina Manuppelli Amicone. He served in the United States Army during World War II receiving five Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. He retired as a custodian from YSU.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica. Edward is survived by his companion of forty years Irene Eshenbaugh and her family. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Betty Katros who died in 1975, and his son Edward Amicone, Jr. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Edward's family would like to extend their appreciation to Hospice of the Valley and the staff at Maplecrest Nursing Home for the outstanding care and compassion that they extended.
