NORTH LIMA - Edgar L. Nelson, 84, of the Caprice Health Care Center passed away early Saturday morning at Hospice House in Poland. Edgar was born on April 18, 1926 in Meadville, PA, a son of Luther M. and Emma G. Wilfong Nelson. He was a career veteran in the U.S. Air Force; a Master Sgt. serving from 1947 until 1980 in Korea. He spent a total of 26 yrs in Korea before returning to this area in 2004. He was a life long VFW member and enjoyed traveling, golf and crossword puzzles. He also liked gardening. Edgar leaves behind two brothers, Virgil J. Nelson of Carolton, PA and Jesse (Marcia) Nelson of Petersburg, OH and several nieces and nephews. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Infant Hugh Nelson, Howard Nelson, Fred Nelson and Loyd Nelson; five sisters, Marie Phares, Emma Romeo, Rella Phillips, Mary Phillips and Storsie Taylor. The family would like to thank the Caprice Health Care Center for the care they gave Edgar.
