Visitation: Tuesday August 24, 2010 from 5-8 P.M. at the Clemente F.H. in New Middletown and on Wednesday at the Church one hour before the service from 10-11 A.M.
NEW MIDDLETOWN - Dorothy L. Kroesen passed away Saturday morning at the Hospice House. She was known to her friends as Dottie and was born in New Middletown, a daughter of Merlin and Leah Wolbolt Wire and was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker, worked at babysitting for working parents and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for 84 years, the church's Senior Group and a past Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a Campfire Leader and a former Lions Club Member and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Springfield Township Fire Department and the New Middletown Homemakers.She was an avid bowler and loved to go on bus trips; loved to knit, sew and crochet for her family members. Dorothy married Robert E. Kroesen on Aug 7, 1948 and he passed away on April 25, 1995. She leaves one daughter, Joyce A.(Howard) Leasure of Columbiana, OH and seven grandchildren, Howie (Liz) Williams, Melissa (Ernie) Berg, Jennifer (David) Dickey, Christine (Dean Bogunia) Leasure, John, Matthew and Robert Leasure. Also seven great grandchildren Tiffany, Natalie and Diamond Berg, Zachary Stock and Jordyn, Jaxon and Jayce Dickey. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Robert, Merlin Wire and an infant brother; one sister, Mabel Black. The family would like to thank her doctors for fighting to keep her healthy and to the nurses and staff at the Hospice House for the superb care that was given. Also to thank Rev. Larry Klinker and the ministers at the Hospice House.
