Visitation: Friends may call at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the funeral home in Struthers from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Springfield Twp. - Donald J. Thompson, 74, a long time resident of Springfield Twp. died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown. Donald was born October 15, 1935 in Youngstown, a son of Benjamin Franklin and Mary Agnes Whalen Thompson. He served in the United States Army and was an auto worker at GM retiring in 1995. He married Julianne Hiet on July 4, 1962. Donald enjoyed fixing cars and anything mechanical. He also had a great love of his children and grandchildren. Donald leaves his wife Julianne, his two sons John P. (Julie) Thompson, Mark E. (Jennifer) Thompson both of Petersburg; one daughter Helen A. (James, Jr.) Touville of Petersburg; one brother Mark E. Thompson of Liberty and six grandchildren, Tiffany and James, III Touville and Elizabeth, Ryan, Sean and Christian Thompson. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Robert and Earl and one sister Rita Kather.
