Struthers – Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am at the Clemente Funeral Home and a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am at Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church both in Struthers for Donald P. Joseph, Sr., 85, of Struthers, who passed away Friday evening at the Hospice House.
Donald was born March 2, 1929, in Struthers, a son of John and Barbara Popovich Joseph. He was a lifelong Struthers resident and Struthers High School Graduate of 1946. He attended Youngstown College and retired from the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad after 45 years of service as a car inspector. He was a member of the Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church Parish and its Holy Name Society, Altar and Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. He was a member of the Jednota Lodge 259 in Struthers.
Donald married the former Marilyn M. Banovich on September 16, 1967. Besides his wife, he leaves two children Mary Lynn Joseph of Atlanta, GA, and Donald (Melissa) Joseph, Jr. of New Middletown, two sisters Valeria Krystek of Boardman and Geraldine Gingery of New Middletown, two grandchildren Andrew and Abigail Joseph. He also leaves many nieces and nephews in the Youngstown and surrounding areas.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Joseph.
Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
