New Middletown –A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown for Donald J. Erwin, 71, who died Thursday. Donald was born July 15, 1943, in Youngstown, a son of Odis Ross and Patricia Louise McIntee Erwin. He married Peggy Ann Scott on July 15, 1963. Donald worked as a pipe fitter and retired in 2004.  He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Nascar racing, and western film fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Donald leaves his wife Peggy; three daughters Cathy (Chuck) Lehnerd, Verna Erwin, and Lynda (Joe) Humphries, all of New Middletown; two brothers Gerald Erwin of Hermitage, PA,  Bob Erwin of Youngstown, and five grandchildren Nicholas, Mandy, Dawn, Julie, and Mara, Friends may call on Monday Evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Clemente Funeral Home and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle both in New Middletown. The family requests that memorial tributes in Donald's name be sent to the charity, The Difference Makers at 225 North Main Street in Hubbard, OH 44425.
