Services: Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Chuch, St. Nicholas Church) and at 10:30 a.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home, both in Struthers.
Visitation: Friends may call on Sunday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning, one hour prior to the service.
STRUTHERS - Daniel J. Nagle, 55, passed away on Friday morning at his residence. Dan had esophageal cancer and fought a long hard battle with so much strength and faith. Dan was born March 8, 1956 to Peggy Post Nagy and Richard Nagle. He graduated from Boardman High School in 1974. He served in the U.S. Army and attended New Castle School of Trades to become a certified welder. He was an In-School Suspension Aide for Struthers City Schools and later became a custodaian in the same district where worked until his illness. Dan was an avid reader especially enjoying all of Steven King's books. He coached softball for the Struthers Youth Baseball League and coached soccer for the Boardman Youth League. He was a member of the Struthers Gridiron. He was also a member of his church. Dan enjoyed watching his favorite football teams, Struthers Wildcats, Green Bay Packers and the Cleveland Browns. He liked taking trips to caasinos and to the beach. His favorite spot to vacation was Atlantic City. Being with family is what Dan enjoyed the most. He was a loving husband, father and (Papa). His grandchildren were bright spots in his life and they would always bring a smile to his face. He married his soul mate and best friend, Sue Ann Pirone on November 5, 1977. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, three children, Daniel Nagle (Stephanie Marino), Anthony Nagle and daughter-in-law Erin, Jolene (Matthew) Schiedel and Sherry Secre. Siblings are Richard (Karen) Nagle, Sister-in-law Erin, Jolen (Matthew) Schiedel and Sherry Secre. Siblings are Richard (Karen) Nagle,sister-in-law Lynn Nagle, James (Debi) Nagle and Kathy Ward. Dan also wanted his wife's family listed because they were so close to him; Pete (Mary Ann) Pirone, Frank (Anita) Pirone and Marie (Bill) Martin. The three grandchildren that he adored are Anthony Nagle, Jr., Kylie Schiedel and Braydan Schiedel. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. those family members that preceded Dan in death are his parents, his brother Tom Nagle, brother-in-law Ken Ward, his parents-in-law Frank and Antonette Pirone and a nephew Edward Snitzer. Special thanks to all the staff at UPMC, Dr. Evan and Hospice of the Valley. Additional thanks to Joanne, Rebecca and Shelby from Hospice who were so wonderful to Dan. Also Tiffany Ortiz, Barbara McBride, Kathy Camuso, Amanda McNinch (who ran a marathon for the American Cancer Society in Dan's name), family members and friends were so supportive and comforting during Dan's lengthy illness.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any material tributes be made in Dan's name to the funeral home.
