New Springfield - Dallas was born on March 17,1934 in Henderson, West Virginia, a son of Gilbert and Thelma Likens Hayes.He was a veteran of the Korean War and was known as Sgt. Dallas Skinny Hayes when he was in the Army. Dallas lived in the area since 1968 and was the owner and president of Hayes D & D Towing in New Springfield,OH and worked the midnight dispatching shift for 36 years. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66, the New Springfield VFW Post #2799, known as the Triangle Post, and the Amvets.He also enjoyed stock car racing. Dallas married the former Ida A. DeLozier on October 6,1954 and she passed away on november 24, 2009.He leaves one son Dallas R. (Darlene) Hayes,Jr of New Springfield,OH and one daughter Patricia A. Barnes of New Middletown,OH; one step-brother Thomas Lydon of Irvin,PA; two half-brothers Bruce Hayes of Youngstown,OH and Gary Hayes of Clearwater,FL; two sisters Nancy Cuban and Carol Gage, both of Greenville,PA along with his grandchildren Dallas R.(Ulisa) Hayes III and their chidren Taylor Thomas, Haydon Hayes,Triston Hayes, Colton Hayes and Mia Hayes; grandchildren Dustin R. Hayes and Lacie (Scott) Harman and Samantha Barnes and her son Jeremy Barnes Colaluca. Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one step-brother James Lydon and a half brother Robert Hayes and one sister Sandra Cunning.
