Boardman - Clyde D. Hubler, 83, passed away at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus on Sunday, May 3, 2009. Clyde was born in Salem on May 21, 1925, a son of James and Viola Thomas Hubler. He was a sergeant in the Army during World War II and was a personal bodyguard to General Douglas McArthur in the Philippines. He maried Lenna B. Newell on Oct. 11, 1946. He was a sheet metal worker with Local No.33 for 61 years, and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Washingtonville VFW, Eagles of Salem, Moose Lodge of Port St. Lucy, Fla. He leaves his wife, Lenna Hubler; two daughters, Debra Caro of Boardman and Linda Hritz of Poland; 10 grandchildren, Anthony (Michelle) Carosella, Michelle Carosella, Angie Carosella, Lynette Carosella, Nino Carosella, Robert P. Layshock, Jr., Terri(Justin) Gaydos, Amanda S. Caro, John I. (Andrea) Hritz and Dylan Z. (Nicole) Hritz; six great grandchildren, Alyssa Carosella, Lauren Stout, Amber Pine, Tyler Blake, Joey Carosella and Saireth Hritz; a nephew, James (Julie) Hubler; and a niece, Beverly (Edward) Schenk. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Carosella and a brother, Ralph E. Hubler.
