Lordstown – Services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, at 11:00 am at Bailey Road Baptist Church in North Jackson, for Cloteel E. Stelt, 88, formerly of New Middletown, who passed away Saturday morning at Briarfield Assisted Living.

Cloteel was born on July 31, 1929, in Trenton, New Jersey, a daughter of Wallace A. and Lena M. Phillips Matthew.  She married Charles F. Stelt, Jr. on November 1, 1952.  She was a lifelong resident of New Middletown prior to moving to Lordstown to be closer to her family.  She belonged to the Poland Village Baptist Church for many years prior to joining the Bailey Road Baptist Church in North Jackson.  She loved gardening and helped to take care of the grounds at both churches.

Cloteel leaves her son Charles F. "Fred" (Deanna) Stelt III of Lordstown, a brother Milo (Barb) Matthew of Alliance, a sister Dorothy Phillips of Alliance, two grandchildren Jody Lynn (Coty) Powell of Lafayette, Indiana and Kirsten Stelt of Lordstown, two great grandchildren Hunter and Makenna and many nieces and nephews.

Cloteel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, who died August 16, 2000, and one sister Ernestine Mercer.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Bailey Road Baptist Church at 2121 North Bailey Road in North Jackson , OH, 44451.             .

The family requests that material tributes in Cloteel's name be made to the Bailey Road Baptist Church.
