Charlotte, N.C. - Christina Marie Pavel, 41, a native of Struthers made her home in Charlotte, N.C. with her family since 2001. She was born on March 14, 1967 in Youngstown and died on December 16, 2008. She was mentally and emotionally strong, optimistic and brave in her battle with colon cancer from Feb. 2008 and fought with relentless hope to the very end of her life. Christina leaves behind three daughters, Beth Ann Pavel, Tara Lynn Pavel, Amber Rae Profanchik and one son Alden Thomas Profanchik; her partner of 16 years, William Profanchik and step-daughter Anna Profanchik and step-granddaughter Joslyn and a step-son Billy Profanchik; her mother Barbara Berchik of Struthers and father Bob Pavel of Girard, OH.; a sister Lisa Pavel of Boardman and two brothers, Chief Warrant Officer Rob Pavel of LeMoore, CA., and Thomas Pavel of Tampa, FL.She also leaves a niece Nicole Zenn of Boardman, OH., and a nephew Thomas Miguel Pavel of LeMorre, CA. She was buried at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Charlotte, N.C. on December 23, 2008.
