NEW MIDDLETOWN - Charles J. Cronenwett, Sr., 84, formerly of Poland, passed away at Masternick Memorial Nursing Home on Saturday. Charles was born April 26, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of Charles and Ida Kunsch Cronenwett. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1946; was a Corporal in the Army during World War II and worked at Ohio Bell, later AT&T, for 45 years retiring in 1990. He achieved his pilot's license and was an avid Ham Radio Operator. Charles married Dolores Marie Ferko on June 26, 1954. Charles is survived by two sons, Charles J. Cronenwett Jr. of New Middletown and Ronald Cronenwett of Columbia, MD; one daughter, Michele (Don) Devlin of New Springfield; two grandsons, Andrew (Nichole) Darr of El Paso, TX and Antony Devlin of North Lima and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Blake Darr of El Paso, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores, who died Oct. 7, 2009 and his daughter-in-law, Ilana Cronenwett.
