NEW MIDDLETOWN - Catherine Zemkosky was born on July 20, 1958 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of John and Phyllis Cavucci Gibson. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, where she served as a CCD teacher and advisor for the youth group, Witness. Catherine was employed at McCrudden Heating and Supply Company for 33 years, where she shared a close friendship with many. Catherine or Cathy, as she liked to be called, spread optimism, positivity and fun wherever she went. Many remember her hosting skills, as she knew how to throw a great celebration, no matter the occasion. Catherine was a devoted wife and mother who leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, David and daughter, Courtney of New Middletown. She has taught them so much and never ceased to put them first. Catherine also leaves behind two brothers, John (Kathy) Gibson of Virginia Beach, VA and Tony (Heidi) Gibson of Willoughby; and two sisters, Phyllis Gibson of Struthers and Michelle (Bill) Simcox of Struthers; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. All who knew Catherine knew of her caring and altruistic personality and she will be missed by many. To all, she leaves behind a handwritten quote she had posted on her refrigerator, (Life is like a merry-go-round, full of ups and downs. But it gives you bright lights and beautiful music, so make time to enjoy the ride.) Cahterine's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice of the Valley. All of their employees were true blessings to Catherine and her family in their time of need.
