Struthers – A prayer service will be held at 10:30 A. M. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at the Clemente Funeral Home with a 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church, both in Struthers, for Catherine "Kay" Uhron, 90, who passed away Wednesday evening at Hospice House, surrounded by her family.
Kay was born January 30, 1925 in Campbell, Ohio, a daughter of Vincenzo "James" and Rosina Chatan Brizzi; she lived in the area her whole life.
Kay was a 1943 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She worked at Weatherby Coats, Isaly Dairy, A & P Grocery Store and was a cook at Windsor House and Maple Crest Nursing Homes. She met the love of her life John J. Uhron, while working at Isaly's. They married on August 30, 1952. Kay was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church where she helped with the church festival. She enjoyed going to Mountaineer and loved to bake and cook. She was well known for her wedding soup, pizzelles, potato salad and apricot kiffles, but Kay's biggest joy was her grandchildren. She cared for them and loved them with all her heart.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Darlene (Eric) Dell'Arco of Struthers, and Jackie (Mark) Angelilli of Poland; one sister, Ginny (Rick Olson) Brizzi of New Wilmington, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Marissa, Vincent, and Adrianna Dell'Arco and Alina, Anthony, and Marco Angelilli.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, Joseph, Samuel Brizzi and three sisters, Rose Cronin, Carmel Mingo and Betty Scanlon.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
