Services: Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church and 9:30 a.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home both in Struthers.

Visitation: Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.

Poland - Caroline A. Slavens, 87, formerly of Struthers died Jan. 13th. at the Hospice House in Poland, after residing at Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima, Ohio. Caroline was born April 6, 1921 in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of Louis and Anna Iwancz Lysz. She married Michael B. Slavens on Sept. 25, 1948, was a member of St. Nicholas Church and it's Altar & Rosary Society, and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Caroline leaves behind two sons, Michael L. Slavens of Struthers and Ron (Debbie) Slavens of Boardman; one daughter, Elaine (Paul) Toth of Howland; and four grandchildren, Amanda Toth, Michael Jay Slavens, Christina Slavens and Mark Slavens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, who died Nov. 22, 2007; one brother William Lysz; and one sister, Vincenta Pilch.

Memorials: Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
