Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown.
Visitation: Friends may call at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, one hour prior to mass.
NEW MIDDLETOWN - Barbara A. Seman, 61, passed away Sunday morning at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1949, a daughter of William J. and Mary Louise Horvath Bennett. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1967. Barb married Jerome M. Seman on April 15, 1972. She worked from 1972 to 2008, at which time she retired from the Humility of Mary Pain Management Department. She was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop #668; a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church; a pirohy volunteer at the (Cabbage Patch Table), and was an avid supporter of the New Springfield Relay for Life and OROC (OutRun Ovarian Cancer). Barb was considered the (glue) that held the family together, organizing and preparing annual dinners, parties and holiday celebrations for relatives and friends, and enjoyed reading. She was happiest when taking care of and providing for her family, friends and neighbors. Barb was a six and a half year survivor of ovarian cancer and she did it with grace. She was affectionately known at the (The Queen). Barb is survived by her husband, Jerry; her father, William and her stepmother, Catherine Zetts of Poland; her son Ryan (Debra) Seman of Worthington; her daughter, Melissa Seman of Middleburgh Heights; two step grandchildren, Dylan and Kea Czempinski; her brother, Raymond (Denise_ Bennett of Sylvania Heights; her sister, Marian (Ken) Tirpack of Boardman; a sister-in-law, Diane Bennett of Boardman; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Joanne) Seman of Austintown; and 24 nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Horvath Bennett, who died February of 1980 and her brother, James Bennett, who died in 1990.
