Boardman-Augustin Santiago, 87, passed away on March 19, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. Augustin was born August 28, 1925 in Puerto Rico, a son of Cleofe and Evangelista Ortiz Santiago. He worked in the steel mills for 30 years before retiring. He married Beatrice Brown. Augustin leaves two daughters, Rosa Alba Santiago and Lydia Estel Santiago; two step-daughters, Cynthia Kwiecinski of Hubbard, OH and Maye (Paul) Huff of Youngstown; one step-son James (Edith) Lopez of North Point, FL; a step-daughter-in-law Gesila Lopez of Wacok, TX; seven brothers, Victor, Felipe, Alfredo, Gregorio, Fernando, Jose Cleofe and Miguel Santiago; four sisters, Dominga, Leticia and Elba Santiago and Gladys Santiago Rojas and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Augustin was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice, who died in April 1997, a step-son Joe Lopez, a step-son-in-law Tom Kwiecinski and two sisters Santos and Carmen Santiago.
