NEW SPRINGFIELD - Anthony N. DeMartino passed away Friday April 3,2015 at the Vista Center in Boardman,OH .  He was 91 years old. Anthony was born on Oct 3, 1923 in Youngstown,OH  a son of Ventura and Lena Sazio DeMartino. He lived in the area most of his life and was a 1942 graduate of the East High School. He then served in the Marine Corps during WWII  in the Pacific at Bougainville, Guam, Marianas Island, Okinawa. Rauku Island and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning home he worked as a railroad conductor at the P & LE Railroad for 34 yrs. He also worked as a real estate and insurance agent. Anthony was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman. He was a friend of Bill W. and Dr. Bob for 50 yrs. His passion was his garden and the outdoors. He enjoyed tennis and golf and especially family picnis where he played volleyball. Anthony married the former Donna Anspach on December 1, 1975 and she passed away on Oct 9, 2012. He leaves his children Mary Ann (Gary) Wollet of Canfield,OH, Anthony "Mooch" (Gail) DeMartino of Canfield,OH, Mark (Dr. Julianne) DeMartino of Poland,OH, Gary (Barbara) DeMartino of Beavercreek,OH, Robert (Valerie) DeMartino of Boardman,OH and two step-sons Fred (Brenda) Martin of Boardman,OH and Raymond Martin of California. One sister Carmel Ferranti of Boardman,OH  and 13 grandchildren William, Theresa, Joshua, Olivia, Francine, Theresa Ann, Mark, Gary, Seth, Elise, Nicole, Eric and Natalie and 8 great-grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son Joseph DeMartino.
