New Middletown – A private service will be held Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown for Anne M. Pope, 97, of  the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center, formerly of Coitsville, Ohio, who passed away Tuesday evening at the Masternick home. Anne was born June 5, 1916 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Raymond and Matilda Vanosky Mikruta. She lived in the area her whole life and was a 1934 graduate of South High School. She was a homemaker and collected and loved antiques. Anne married John Pope on October 1, 1937 and he passed away September 30, 1982. She leaves one son John R. (Katherine) Pope of New Middletown, four grandchildren, Kae (Scott) Grdina, Juliet (Chris) Economus, Christy (Omar) Nagi and Robert Pope,  and 11 great grandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Robert M. Pope and three sisters, Dorothy and Betty Mikruta and Mary Blama.
