New Middletown – A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown for Nancy L. Stallsmith,82, who passed away at home on Sunday morning.
Nancy was born September 27, 1936 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of James and Mary Slagle Fife.
Nancy graduated from Salem High School in 1954 and from Wittenberg University in 1958. She taught sixth grade at the George Rogers Clark School in Springfield, Ohio. She came to the area in 1962 and taught at the Springfield Local Elementary School in New Middletown. She was also owner and director of St. Paul’s Child Care Center in New Middletown. Nancy was a member of Tru-Mah-Cal AEYC, where she held a variety of offices. She volunteered at the Rescue Mission and was a committee member of the Springfield Library Fund Raising. She enjoyed family activities, quilting, crocheting, and baking for others.
Nancy married Myron L. Stallsmith on January 3, 1959.
Besides her husband of New Middletown, she leaves one son James P. (Jennifer) Stallsmith of Austintown; two daughters, Cathy L. (Barry) Snyder of Poland, Sheri L. (Kevin) Steele of Louisville, KY; one brother Merle Fife of CA; five grandchildren, Jessica (Taylor) Boss, Krista (Christopher) Minotti, Hunter Snyder, Cassidy and Kadon Steele; three great grandchildren, Abigail and Harrison Minotti, and Jace Boss.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Pat Fife.
Friends may call at the Clemente Funeral Home 10170 Main Street New Middletown, OH on Tuesday February 12, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
