Youngstown - Private services were held Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers for John R. “Bubby” Heck, 68, who passed away on Thursday morning, June 15, 2017, surrounded by his family.

John was born on March 31, 1949 in Butler, PA, a son of Dorothy Sedoris.

He lived in the area his whole life and worked as a mechanic and sales rep, retiring in 2012. His hobby was his car, a 1978 Oldsmobile Tornado, which he attended all the local car shows with his buddies.

John married the former Judy A. Wolfe on August 20, 1966, and she passed away on December 5, 2012.

He leaves his children Sheila (Dave) Zagorsky of Struthers, Kenneth Heck of Youngtown, Dorothy (Jim) Crago of Leetonia, OH; two grandchildren, David Jr. and Janelle Zagorsky; three sisters, Elaine Toney of Girard, Wendy (Dave) Kishton of Youngstown, Cher (Lee) Williams of Poland and his girlfriend Margaret Blue.

He was preceded in death by his mother, wife and one brother, James E. Heck.

A special thanks goes to the sixth floor nurses at St. Elizabeth Mercy Health in Youngstown and Hospice of the Valley for the care they gave to John and the family.
