George S. Maczko, Sr.

A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for George S. Maczko, Sr., 83, who died Friday at Shepherd of the Valley.

George was born August 21, 1935, in Bedford, OH, a son of George J. and Elizabeth Bodnar Maczko. He graduated from Orange High School in Cleveland.  He married Rosalie Segreto on April 2, 1954, and they made their home in Struthers. George served in the Army as a Sergeant and was a security officer and radio operator.  He continued to serve in the reserves for five years.  When George returned from the service, he worked for Sterling and State Alarm and then owned and operated George S. Maczko (GSM) Alarm until he retired in 2000. He was a member of the Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.

George leaves his wife, Rosalie, one son George S. (Timothy Thurman) Maczko, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, three daughters Anna Marie (Richard) Allgood of Poland, Bernadette (Dale) Gottberg of Struthers, and Dawn Barbara (Larry Yates) Maczko of Youngstown, one brother Joseph Maczko of Valleyview, OH, two sisters Susan Hartman of Cincinnati and Alice Rindin of Boardman, five grandchildren Louis David Mastroberardino, Dale (Stephanie) Gottberg, Jr., Erin Gottberg, Chad Gottberg, and Linda (Chris) Allgood Forman, five great grandchildren Saint Scafuri, River Mastroberardino-Wheatcroft, Lincoln Garltic, Dale Gottberg III, and Alexis Davis and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, two children Paul K. and Carolyn Maczko, one brother John Maczko, one sister Margaret Siskowic, and one great grandson Richard Mastroberardino-Wheatcroft.

Friends may call one hour prior to the mass on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church in Struthers at 764 Fifth Street in Struthers, OH, 44471.
