Columbiana – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown for Augustine Gray, 73, who passed away Thursday morning March 14, 2024,
Augustine was born July 14, 1950 in Brownton, WV.
She moved to Youngstown, Ohio after her high school graduation and lived with her sister Ada Mae and her family until her marriage to Terrance Gray.
She was employed by Anglin’s Auction as a clerk, Prater’s Auction, a waitress and factory worker and D’Amato Chiropractic.
She was known for her willingness to dive in and help anyone with anything. You could always count on her. Augie never missed a wedding, funeral, family birthday parties and any other family gathering. Augie loved auctions, flea markets, bingo, casino trips, and traveling She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially the children, she never had any of her own. Augie looked forward to the annual family reunions every August in West Virginia. Her and her siblings, nieces and nephews spent days preparing for an event very close to her heart. You could always find her in the yard playing with the kids, getting into some kind of mischief.
Augie reconnected with Tony Romito, now her fiancé, and they shared a couple of blissful years traveling and enjoying their time together. Tony remained lovingly by her side in her stay at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center, and remained with her at the Hospice House.
She leaves her siblings Ada Mae Anglin of New Middletown, OH, Virgil Pyle of Flemington, WV, Elmer Golda Pyle (Debbie) of Flemington, WV.
She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who will hold on to her memory.
Augie was preceded in death by her parents, Iza Leone Pyle and Hazel Pyle Calhoun, spouse Terrance Gray, and her siblings Loretta Trader, Virginia Blanche Shaffer, and Robert and Marvin Pyle.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m
The family wishes to thank Hospice House for providing comfort and compassion to both Augie and the family.
Donations can be made in her name to Augustine/Gray Memorial Fund , which will be used for future family reunions.
