Campbell - Elmer Jay Stalnacker Jr., 82, laid down his working tools on April 23rd, 2024 and passed away peacefully at Hospice House of the Valley surrounded by loved ones.
Elmer was born on March 16th to Elmer J Stalnacker, Sr. and Violet (Such) Stalnacker (both deceased ) of Campbell, OH. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Stalnacker of Campbell, OH. Elmer is survived by his former wife, Joanne Stalnacker, who is the mother of his three children, Michelle (Hans) Mugler of St. Louis, MO, Tina (Ray) Schneider of Canfield, OH and Jay (Kim) Stalnacker and granddaughter, Aspen Stalnacker of Colorado.
After graduating from Campbell Memorial High School, Elmer entered the Air Force and served our country for four years. He began a career in equipment repair with IBM and later opened and operated his own business, Beaver Valley Office Equipment. He also was a co-owner of a Mailboxes Etc.
Elmer was a devoted member of Argus Lodge 545. This year would have been Elmer’s 50th anniversary as a Mason. He rose in rank and became Master in 1981. He was highly involved in helping new members learn rites and progress through the degrees of freemasonry. Elmer received the Wilfred Stephenson Award for Ritualistic Work in1993.
Elmer was a member of the Youngstown Chapter of Rose Croix, Scottish Rite, and was recognized as Past Most Wise Master in1994. He also was a member of the York Rite; Youngstown Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Beuchner Council, R+SM and St. John’s Commandary, Knights Templar.
Elmer loved to golf and enjoyed his yearly golf trips with his golfing buddies. He was an avid sports lover and enjoyed watching his Pittsburgh and Ohio teams play.
We will honor Elmer’s memory Saturday, April 27th at Clemente Funeral Home, 700 Fifth Street Struthers, OH. Calling hours are 5pm-7pm, with a Masonic service at 7pm followed by a memorial service.
