Attilio DelSignore Obituary

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for Attilio DelSignore, 94, of Struthers who passed away peacefully Friday evening at Maplecrest Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation surrounded by his family.

Attilio was born July 30, 1923, in Elkins, West Virginia, a son of Jim and Anna Quattro DelSignore.  He graduated from Struthers High School on June 2, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge in Company 278 Engineer Combat Battalion, earning three Bronze Stars. Attilio married Elizabeth DeCarlo on September 11, 1948, at St. Anthony Church. He worked at LTV on the blast furnace and then in security at the Ohio One Building, He was a member of Christ Our Savior / St. Nicholas Church and the St. Anthony Society.  He built the home in which he and his wife raised their family.  He also enjoyed gardening, watching the Cleveland Indians and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Attilio leaves his wife, Elizabeth, his daughter Joann Brown of Struthers, three brothers  Rudy (Nancy) DelSignore and Vince (Anita) DelSignore both of Youngstown and Ralph (Terrie) DelSignore of Louisville, KY, one sister Flora Colontonio of Meadows, NY. A sister-in-law Tommi DeCarlo of Boardman, two grandchildren Kristen (Anthony) Patellis of Poland and Elizabeth DelSignore of Henderson, NV, and two great grandchildren AJ & Lia Patellis. 

Attilio was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jimmy DelSignore and his brother Joseph.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Attilio’s name be made to All Caring Hospice at 6715 Tippecanoe Road, Bldg B Suite 101 in Canfield, OH, 44406.

Friends may call one hour prior to the mass on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am  at Christ Our Savior/St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.

The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation for the compassionate care given to Attilio by Dr. Alex Vrable, and the staff of Maplecrest Skilled Nursing and All Caring Hospice,
